Christian

I have been a Christian my entire life. It had not occurred to me to believe anything different, or that there would even be a viable alternative. Yesterday, as I was studying the lesson I will be teaching in our Sunday School class this coming week, it struck me, this is awesome.

As I read through the very clear cut description of the prophesies and life of Jesus Christ I was amazed. It is all really spectacular really, almost fictional sounding - the Spirit of God comes upon a virgin and then she is with child. From a medical perspective, that is unbelievable, yet, I have never questioned it. I still don't. I just started thinking how others might think of this who heard it for the first time. It occured that the Roman's were not too far off with their concept of Zues and Hercules and the rest. Almost every culture and a version of a God, a being more powerful than man yet somehow among men. i believe they all had parts of the truth of the full Gospel of Jesus Christ at one time, and then through verbal traditions it got a bit mixed. We are all decendents of Adam and Eve, and they sure knew about Jesus Christ, they were told of Him, walked and talked with Him even, while in the Garden of Eden.

As a missionary I was preaching among predominately Christian people and the new awesome thing I had to share with them was that Jesus Christ visited the America's too and then a young boy in 1820 in the United States. To them, hearing it for the first time, it sounds outlandish. But then, when you put it in the context of healing sight with mud, it seems to work out just fine with the character of the Omnipotent son of God. The fact is, the plan of God simply is amazing, fantastic, miraculous, unexplicable by the standards of mortal men.

Unexplicable. That is the precise reason why I love the principle of faith so much. Even when you get the cut and dry facts and look at the conception and life of Jesus Christ and tyr to take it apart and explain to yourself how it couldn't be possible, I just can't talk myself out of it. The real and permeable fact, as dictated through my feelings, through that matter that is unexplicable, even my soul, is that Jesus Christ lived as prophecied about. He live still. don't ask me to explain it in a logical way, I could come up with some real good scripture to back it up, but if you don't want to feel to figure it out, it just won't happen. I know Jesus Christ lives and that He is our Savior. I haven't any more real evidence than my own personal knowledge. Furthermore, I know He will come again, and I am trying to be worthy of His presence when He does come.

Enjoying

This a part of the view of the Superstition mountains as we climbed and scrambled up a wash toward the tops. It was lovely spring time in the desert mountains. The saguaro cactus haven't bloomed yet, but all the underbrush is green and wildflowers are popping out.

Josh and I did an 'adult hike' leaving behind our kids with a sitter so that we could attempt climbing to the top of Flat Iron. Noticing that there were a lot of people on the rock scrambling trail we opted to take a detour to the right and go out on another look out cliff. Sure, it was not the highest peak in the Superstitions, but we had nothing to prove. Just some time to be alone in nature and enjoy each other. What a wonderful date (not to mention cheap).

Cooling System

I served the noodles to Danny a little on the warm side for dinner. He didn't complain at all though. He just figured out a way to fix it: When he picked up a handful of noodles (heaven forbid we use utensils for anything more than poking your sister), if it were too hot, just move it to the cooling table. The miraculous thing was that he actually remembered the order in which he put them out on the table and would go back systematically and check which pile was ready to eat, and then devour it. What a smart boy! Hey, when you want to eat bad enough, you make it work.
